Bloom Builders 3

I just got my August order from PTI and immediately had to play with the new Bloom Builders 3 die.  I cut the flowers out of Scarlet Jewel and Raspberry Fizz cardstock and then alternated the colors.  LOVE!!!!

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday - 2nd Cracked glass card

I decided to try another card using the Cracked Glass technique.  In my previous post, I made a card using this technique that had a very modern feel to it and that was clean and simple - my usual style.  For this card, I decided to go WAY out of my comfort zone and try the vintage/shabby chic style.  I've never been able to pull off this style before to my satisfaction.  I really like how this card turned out.  It's very different from anything I've ever made before.

I started out with the Delightful Dahlia image that I die cut and stamped and then colored with the Hibiscus Burst Copic trio.  I antiqued it with the Tea dye inks and then coated it with UTEE and cracked it.  I highlighted the cracks with Raspberry Fizz ink.

The leaves are Simply Chartreuse felt cut with the Leaf Print and Sending You leaf dies and the Parisian Lace die cut doily was inked with Hibiscus burst ink.

Supplies:  (all items except UTEE are PTI)

Ink:  Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate, Tea Dye
Cardstock:  White, Simply Chartreuse, Hibiscus Burst
Stamps:  Delightful Dahlia, Background Basics: Tin Type, Tiny Tags
Other:  Simply Chartreuse felt, Delightful Dahlia Die, Sending You die, Leaf Print die, Tiny Tag die, Parisian Lace Die, Hibiscus Burst Satin ribbon, 1/8" white silk ribbon, HIbiscus Burst copic trio, UTEE

Make it Monday Challenge - Cracked Glass technique

I am participating in Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge again this week.  This week's challenge is to use a crackle technique of coating an image with clear embossing powder and then cracking the glaze and using ink to highlight the cracks. All products are PTI unless specified.

I used Ranger alcohol inks on glossy paper to make the accent strip.  I coated it with UTEE clear embossing powder and then cracked it and highlighted the cracks with Plum Pudding ink.  I attached the strip to Vintage Cream cardstock and then stamped the sentiment from Think Big Favorites #4 in Dark Chocolate ink.  I finished it up with a ribbon and bow of Spring Moss satin ribbon.  Enjoy!

MIM Challenge - Card 2

Papertrey Ink MIM Challenge - Second Sympathy Card

This is the second card I created for this week's Make it Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink.

This card uses a Sweet Blush card base. I used the Alpha Block die to die cut the "window" for this card and then stamped a branch image from the 2009 CHA set Floral Fusion on white cardstock in Dark Chocolate and Hibiscus Burst ink that was put behind the "window".

A flourish from Fancy Flourishes was stamped in Versamark Ink in the background.

MIM Challenge - Card 1

Papertrey Ink MIM Challenge - Sympathy Cards 1

I decided to play along with the Make it Monday challenge this week. The challenge was to create sympathy cards.

This first card is a classic sympathy card in a monochromatic color scheme.

I used the PTI stamp set "Through the Trees". The card base is Soft Stone cardstock and the tree image was embossed with White Filigree embossing powder onto True Black Cardstock. The tag is a Spellbinders Nestie Ribbon tag and the ribbon is some PTI silk ribbon I colored with a grey Copic marker. Classic Elegance.
